As the founder of a candle brand, my creative process always begins with the aroma. Each fragrance I choose evokes a memory, a feeling, or a place that feels personal and familiar. For example, the fragrance Black Sea instantly transports me to the ocean, with its salty breeze and serene waves. It’s the kind of scent that belongs in a shell-shaped vessel adorned with marine elements—capturing the calm yet powerful energy of the sea. Or take Cranberry Basket, which reminds me of winter walks through snow-covered trees. This candle feels at home when designed with vibrant cranberries and a sprig of pine or fir, creating a visual harmony with the scent.

I truly believe that scent is the fastest way to connect with an emotion or memory. Unlike our other senses, smell bypasses everything else and speaks directly to our feelings. It’s why, walking down the street, we notice the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee or buttery croissants from a bakery before we even see the source.
